Following a chaotic conclusion to their Sunday Premier League match, Liverpool defeated Tottenham 4-3 thanks to a late goal from substitute Diogo Jota.

At Anfield, Tottenham battled back from a 3-0 deficit after only 15 minutes to tie the score at 3-3 with Richarlison's goal in the third minute of extra time.

However, Jota quickly came back to secure a fourth straight league victory and strengthen Liverpool's chances of at least qualifying for the Europa League.

In a 2-2 draw on Thursday, Tottenham came back after falling behind 2-0 against Manchester United.

After scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes (Curtis Jones, Luiz Diaz, and Mohamed Salah), the Londoners appeared to be securing another comeback tie.

For Spurs, Harry Kane got one back in the 39th, and Son Heung-min got another in the 77th.

Richarlison came off the bench to equalise, but Jota's goal ended the visitors' jubilation.

With a game left to play, Liverpool moved up to fifth place and is now two points ahead of Tottenham.

A week after giving up five goals in the first 21 minutes at Newcastle, Tottenham had a similarly disastrous start at Anfield.

Jones scored in the third, Diaz doubled Liverpool's advantage in the fifth, and Salah scored from the penalty spot to win the game.
