Early 2000s British pop group S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole passed away only a few weeks after the band announced a reunion tour. He was 46.

According to the BBC, the band and Cattermole's family announced his untimely death on Friday, saying "it is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole."

Cattermole, they claimed, was discovered at his home in Dorset, southwest England, on Thursday and was declared dead later that day.

"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances," they said.

Members of S Club 7 declared on social media that they were "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother Paul. No words can adequately express the profound sadness and loss we all experience."

"We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have," the band said.

S Club 7 was launched in 1998 by Simon Fuller, the Spice Girls' music mogul, and was modelled after The Monkees.

The upbeat U.K. hits by S Club 7 included 'Don't Stop Movin', the timeless bubblegum pop song 'Reach', and the ballad 'Never Had a Dream Come True'.

Cattermole left the band the same year, after which his bandmates dropped the number from their name, the BBC reported

All seven S Club members reunited in 2014, and Cattermole starred in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show the following year, the BBC reported.
