On Sunday at Chase Centre, the Warriors' thrilling Game 4 victory against the Sacramento Kings included a scene that was eerily similar to one of the most well-known errors in the annals of college basketball.

Surprisingly, Steph Curry, a star for Golden State, made the mistake that almost cost the defending NBA champions the game.

Curry called a timeout with 42 seconds left in the Warriors' eventual 126-125 victory, but Golden State had already used all of its timeouts. With the Warriors only leading by five points, Curry was given a technical foul.

The error was comparable to Chris Webber's iconic "The Timeout" NCAA Championship moment from 1993.

The Michigan star's attempt to request a timeout when his team had none left led to a technical penalty that basically gave North Carolina the victory.

On Sunday, the Kings came close to punishing Curry and the Warriors for their oversight, scoring four points in the last seconds of Game 4

The Kings closed the gap on the Warriors' lead in part because of a 3-point jump shot by De'Aaron Fox with 28 seconds remaining.

Curry made a mistake, but Golden State overcame Sacramento and won to even the first-round NBA playoff series at two games each.

Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors, admitted full responsibility for the error following the victory. He said Steph was unaware they had used all of their timeouts.

Curry's Game 4 performance won't be remembered for the error, though, as the reigning NBA Finals MVP scored a game-high 32 points on 50% shooting from the field while also grabbing five rebounds, four assists, and four 3-pointers.
